Sightseeing: Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon is a colorful city, known for it’s historic monuments, beautiful promenade along the riverbank, and vibrant gardens. There's so much to see and do! We could never list it all, so here are just a few recommendations:
Alfama
One of Lisbon’s oldest areas in the city, with steep streets lined with shops, cafes, and restaurants. Enjoy the stunning views along the Tagus River.
Castelo de São Jorge
This historical National Monument is a old medieval alcáçova (citadel) consisting of the old castle and ruins built by the Moors in the 11th century. Located at R. de Santa Cruz do Castelo, 1100-129 Lisbon.
Santa Justa Elevator
Enjoy views of the city on this century-old, neo gothic elevator was designed by Raoul Mesnier du Ponsard (a former student of Gustave Eiffel, creator of the Eiffel tower). Located at R. do Ouro, 1150-060 Lisbon.
Oceanário de Lisboa
One of the largest aquariums in the world, holding one million gallons of seawater supporting the lives of 8,000 sea creatures. Located at Esplanada Dom Carlos I s/nº, 1990-005 Lisbon.
Torre de Belém
A fortress build in the 16th century that sits in the shallows of the Tagus River. Located at Av. Brasília, 1400-038 Lisbon.
