2016 Holiday Gift Guide for Motorcycle Riders

The holidays are upon us, but if you’re still stumped on what to get your favorite rider, we’re here to help. This list includes some of our most-used and best-loved gear, from waterproof luggage and heated base layers to a navigation system designed for motorcyclists.

Looking for an epic gift? Don’t forget, our 2017 tours are up and registration is open!

Firstgear Torrent Drypack Backpack and Rollbags Every touring motorcyclist needs a reliable set of waterproof luggage. Firstgear’s 20-liter Torrent backpack has air-mesh padded, adjustable straps designed to work with your riding jacket, and channeled mesh back pads for comfort and breathability. A sternum strap helps keep everything in place. The backpack retails for $69.95, while the rollbags—in 24, 40, and 70 liters—range from $59.95 to $89.95.

Draggin Jeans Draggin has been making stylish, protective motorcycle gear for more than 20 years, and is a favorite among the Blue Rim Tours team. From jeans and jackets to shirts and liners, all of the company’s products are made in America with American-sourced materials. Pants are constructed with heavyweight denim and military-grade DuPont Kevlar in the knees and seats and are available in multiple styles for men and women, starting at $119.95.

The perfect gift for a loved one who rides all year long. A windproof, water resistant, breathable membrane maximizes the comfort of this vest. Four heating panels cover the back, the chest, and the color. A 12V lithium-ion battery can also be purchased to keep the rider warm even after he or she gets off the bike. Vest retails for $189.99 and is available in XXS – XXL.

TomTom’s Rider 400 is designed for motorcyclists seeking new experiences on the open road. Riders can search for the most thrilling (e.g. curvy, hilly, etc.) ride in their area, avoid traffic, and customize routes that can be shared with friends. TomTom’s RAM mounting kit fits nearly all bikes, and battery life is six hours. An array of other accessories are available. The Rider 400 retails for $499.99 but is currently on sale for $349.99.

Any touring motorcyclist will get good use out of MotoSkiveez’s Technical Riding Shirt. Its long-sleeve design—which fits the curvature of a rider’s arms and includes thumb holes—helps prevent the natural oils and salts in sweat from contaminating the riding jacket. Hydro-Sport branded fabric has rapid, moisture-wicking properties to keep wearers comfortable, and a secondary fabric maximizes airflow to keep everything cool and dry. Shirt retails for $59.95 and comes in sizes S – XXL.

Help make your loved one safer on the road. Clearwater Lights’ 24-watt LED Darlas improve motorcycle visibility to traffic during the day and, at night, provide a wide pattern of light that adds to side illumination. The amount of light produced can be regulated by a digital dimmer, making it a great always-on light. Prices vary by motorcycle model.
